Wednesday, March 10 Chapter Meeting Program By Rick Prange

Our Chapter meeting will feature presentations by two Idaho Department of Fish and Game fishery biologists from Idaho’s SW Region. Fisheries Manager, Jeff Dillon, will discuss proposals to simplify statewide fishing rules after this year, as well as re-design of the fishing regulation booklets to make them more understandable. Then fishery biologist, Art Butts, will give us a presentation on the results of an extensive creel census effort that was conducted by IDFG on the Boise River reach between Barber Dam and Americana Bridge. This survey yielded some interesting information on catch and release practices in this stretch of the river. Our gathering will start with a fly tying demonstration at 6:30 followed by the regular meeting and program beginning at 7:30 in the MK Nature Center Auditorium located behind IDFG Headquarters at 600 South Walnut.

Wednesday, March 17 Chapter Film & Fundraiser Event: “Luck o’ the Trout”

Join Trout Unlimited and friends on Wednesday March 17, at 6:00 p.m. at the Owyhee Plaza for “Luck o’ the Trout.” We will feature a couple of Idaho episodes from the Trout Unlimited television show On the Rise, preceded by a social hour and a raffle/silent auction. You can get tickets for $10.00 at local fly shops and available at tedtruebloodtu.org website. Anyone interested in helping with the event please call Chris Jones at 344-0284. With all of our projects and Trout in the Classroom program we’ve pretty well drained the Chapter treasury. It’s time to refill that fly box!
