Dan Schill has been conducting wild trout studies for Idaho Fish and Game in a variety of research and management positions since 1982 and is currently the state’s fisheries research supervisor. Schill is the author of over 30 peer-reviewed papers on trout populations or trout fisheries including a study of catch-and-release on the Yellowstone River in Yellowstone National Park that demonstrated cutthroat trout in the river were caught an average of 9.7 times per season.

He will be presenting a talk on his studies of redband trout in the ultra-remote high desert streams of southern Idaho and an overview of angling methods for catching them.
