January 14 Chapter Meeting Program

We are all concerned about what's happened to the South Fork Boise River fishery and it's watershed environment since the devastating Pony and Elk Fires in 2013. The affects of these fires will be felt for many years to come. At our January 14 meeting, Joe Kozfkay, Idaho Department of Fish and Game fisheries biologist, will provide up to date biological information on the state of the South Fork's fish population. His presentation will be based on recent IDFG electrofishing mark and recapture surveys and juvenile trout survival assessments conducted on the river over the last couple of seasons. This will be a great opportunity for us to dialog with Joe on what the future holds and where we should be concentrating Trout Unlimited efforts to help recover the river. We will meet at the Nature Center Auditorium, behind the IDGF Headquarters Office, 600 South Walnut Ave. A fly tying demonstration will start at 6:30 pm with the regular meeting beginning at 7:30.
