MARCH 11, 2015 TROUT UNLIMITED MEETING

Is there such thing as a good dam? One of the most industrious animals on the landscape might just be a new restoration partner for Trout Unlimited!

Come learn about the relationship between salmonids and beavers.

Pam Harrington and Kurt Fesenmyer working out of the Trout Unlimited Science Team Office in Boise will present a program on the use of beavers for trout stream restoration. They will start with an overview of the stream habitat benefits provided by beavers, provide some examples of restoration projects in the region that have used beavers, and discuss potential opportunities to work with beavers locally.

A fly tying session starts at 6:30 pm., followed by the regular meeting and program presentation beginning at 7:30. We gather at the Nature Center Auditorium behind the IDFG Headquarters Office located at 600 South Walnut.
