Subject: May 14 Meeting
Date: 08-May-08

The Wednesday, May 14 meeting of the Ted Trueblood Chapter of Trout Unlimited will feature presentations on this year's South Fork Boise River project to survey trout spawning locations, evaluate tributary habitat conditions, and conduct genetic studies. These work projects are the product of discussions between angling groups and agencies and are designed to build on recent monitoring efforts of Idaho Fish and Game and the Boise National Forest. The Ted Trueblood Chapter was awarded a $6,000 grant from the TU Embrace-a-Stream grant program to pursue a genetic study of the South Fork Boise River fishery. We will talk about the upcoming work that this grant will fund, and also how people can help support the research with financial contributions.

Volunteers are needed to help on these projects. You will receive a brochure in the mail with more details.

John Wolter of the Orvis Fly Shop will also be on hand to discuss 2008 South Fork Boise River fishing prospects.

A fly tying demonstration will begin at 6:30, with the regular meeting starting at 7:30. The meeting will be held at the IDFG MK Nature Center Auditorium, 600 South Walnut, behind the IDFG headquarters.
